    damaged roofting felt beneath tiles

It all depends on the surveyor. If the tiles are the traditional clay "rosemary" type then the felt does very little and so any holes wont be a concern If the tiles are interlocking concrete, then some rain may get to the felt. Either way, if there are no signs of water ingress, and if...

Drilling a Hole - That Dreaded Noise!

Taking a Cat 6 cable up to our bedroom (over the garage), I drilled a hole using a 25mm spade bit and extension piece. The cable was to come up underneath a worktop with a rad below. Either side of the rad pipe was a joist, so I drilled a hole a few inches in front of the rad pipe so I would...

    Multiple Damp Patches on Roof

If the ridge is letting in water then every bit of felt(under the tile)will be wet below the point of ingress. I cannot understand every board being wet as the felt protects/prevents the water getting to the board unless there's a hole in the felt. If every board is wet then I'd be looking at...

Small amount of water in loft!!

If the roof covering tiles, slates etc need attention and let the water through the felt catches it and is then supposed to drain down the felt and into the gutter. If you have a hole in the felt then the rain water will drip through. It may be condensation though! the eaves beyond the room...

Does this sound serious loft problem?

the felt on your roof is a 2nd defence against water ingress. the 1st being your roof covering, i would get the roof checked for missing/broken or slipped slates/tiles. you can patch up the holes in the felt from inside using slips of type 1f roofing felt.

    Low pitch roof issues

You need to treat this as a flat roof and fit mineral felt to the deck (with sealed laps), then the battens running in line with the slope, then the tile battens on top. Felt would be preferable to EPDM as the batten fixing holes will self-seal.
