I want to cut up some old steel panel central heating radiators to help with disposal and thought this would be an ideal time to get myself an angle grinder, possibly used from ebay etc. Is this a job for a larger 9" disc machine or would a smaller one still do the job? Thanks.

Yes, the measurements seemed a bit odd to me. I measured the thread with digital verniers so the figures should be pretty accurate. They don't seem to tie up with any threads I can find. A think a new tap could be the way to go as it will take standard adapters which I have loads of.

My garden tap hose connection thread has an outside diameter of 22.9mm/0.9". What thread is this? It doesn't seem to tie up with any sizes I can find. I want to fit a hoselock adaptor but not the universal clamp on type. If I can't find an adapter then I will probably replace the tap.

No problem. I will probably look at using an external flexible wood primer like Ronseal flexible wood primer and undercoat or Rustins equivalent. Can only try. The thing is, no one else would ever notice the cracking but now I know it is there, I need to sort it out.

If the primer is white or near white then I would leave it at that. I would mask the wall and ceiling about 10mm out so any slight shade difference wouldn't matter. I would still have a neat strip around the top.
