Vokera Mynute 20HE - External Wiring

Morning I was wondering if some one would be able to help ? With reference to the attached diagram ( Capture ) from the Vokera manual I am confident that the wire connected to the centre terminal block in M5 is Permanent Live 240 Vac. This means that the wire connected to the left hand...

Solvent Welding ABS Pipe - Insert or Insert & Twist ?

Hi Hope every one is well and staying safe. I need to modify an existing 40mm solvent pipe work and have a question. I have read that ABS fittings should have solvent applied to both the outside of the pipe and the inside of the fitting. I have also read that ABS fittings should not be...

Bath Trap - Optimum Water Seal

Hi Everyone I was wondering if someone could help ? What is the optimum water seal for a bath trap ? I tried to fit a trap with a 75mm seal, but there is not sufficient space to get it in, without cutting away part of the flooring. A trap with a 50mm seal goes in fine, but I wondered if...

Gurgling Basin Trap - Anti Syphon Trap Fluttering ???

Hi thanks for your reply - I can never figure why swept bends are not the norm - I hate seeing knuckle bends used when there was clearly space to fit a swept bend - from what I can see the bends are the same price.

Gurgling Basin Trap - Anti Syphon Trap Fluttering ???

Morning - thanks for your replies - much appreciated. What is the maximum length of a run for 40mm pipe from the basin to the soil stack ? I take it that there is a formula of sorts to account for the number of 90 deg knuckle bends that are incorporated ?

Gurgling Basin Trap - Anti Syphon Trap Fluttering ???

Hi many thanks for your reply. Yes there is a reducer fitted to the bottom of the waste which allows the 40mm p trap to be fitted and then use 40mm pipe. As you say when I saw this I thought that it might have been fitted due to long branch lengths, however I have no idea where the branches run...

Gurgling Basin Trap - Anti Syphon Trap Fluttering ???

Hi there no it is definately 40mm - there is a cross over from the bottom of the sink waste - no sure why this was done. I think it has always done this - not long moved into the house.

Gurgling Basin Trap - Anti Syphon Trap Fluttering ???

Hi I have a problem with a wash hand basin. It is on the 3rd floor of the house. When you fill the basin with water and then let it go it pulls the trap. The trap was a 40mm p trap - I changed this for a 40mm McAlpine anti syphon p trap expecting this to solve the problem. Now the water in...

    For Ianmcd - Pictures

Ian looking at the rust in the back corner at the top of the side panel of the combustion chamber does this look to you as if it has been leaking for some time ? The rust would not have developed overnight ?

    For Ianmcd - Pictures

Hi Ian - thanks - the green stuff in the picture on the HX is that copper oxide ? I note that their is no longer a hissing / whistling sound when the boiler is running - would that have been the boiler kettling with the old HX ?
