What should I use to hang bathroom cabinet?

Hi, Am installing a bathroom cabinet and was thinking of using Gripit or Bullfix type fixings. The main downside being the size of hole required for both. Would something like the Fischer UX6 be able to support a bathroom cabinet? Size of cabinet is as follows- 83x16x98 cm. The wall is...

    Caulking advice

I have varnished skirting boards, like a mahogany colour. It now needs caulk to be be applied. Problem is I am struggling to find a colour which matches it. I could use a white caulk but I don’t think painting or varnishing it will lead to it matching the skirting. I have found mahogany sealant...

Will taking off skirting always leave some damage?

The house is a new build and I had asked for the skirting to be tacked on and not glued. That being said they seem to have secured with nails or screws which weren’t visible on the skirting boards so I appreciate he wouldn’t have been able to see them.

So I have someone laying some flooring down at the moment. He has taken the skirting off, not sure what method he used as I wasn’t there. In any case the skirting is on plasterboard and on having a look today there is 3/4 sections where small chunks of plasterboard have come off. I know the...

Am in a new build and was wondering whether this was something that was possible? Thanks

Best way to install clothes rails in alcove?

Folks- I was trying to find out where the studs were in this alcove so I used magnets as seen in the pic. However, I also ran a stud finder/metal detector along the wall, every corner of this alcove sets off the metal detector. It is the full corner section in each of the four areas of the...

Best way to install clothes rails in alcove?

Hi, I have a small wardrobe space as seen in the pic below and am looking to install couple clothes rails. The problem is there is not stud either side where I want to fit the rail. I can use strong plasterboard fixings but I suspect these will eventually fail given the weight and constant use...

Brickwork 18mm out of plum on new build- advice needed

Are the NHBC likely to take the issue seriously enough to request the builder rectifies it? Someone else was telling me their builder offered a gesture of goodwill instead of re-doing the wall.

Hi, Have recently bought a new build and had a snag inspection done. Have been advised the brickwork on one side is out by 18mm, I believe the acceptable deviation is 8mm. I have a meeting with the site manager next week where I will bring this up. In the meantime thought would ask on the...

What door strip do I need here?

I think so but not 100% sure. The carpet previously went up to the gripper that you see in the pic and didn’t go under the wooden bit.
