I'm looking at fitting an alarm to my 2 bed flat. What system is best, what are the wireless systems like these days? I'm an electrician so these shouldn't be a proplem for me to install although I have not fitted one before. Ideally i'd still like to keep wiring to a minimum so not to have...

Plumbing new washing machine in with pumped hot water

Oh I wish I asked earlier as I've just added a washing machine tap to the hot supply. Never mind it didn't take long. I will try it and see how we get on with the noise, its not very loud, I just hope it detects it. Our hot water is fed from a comunial boiler so ideally i'd like it to work as...

Cutting the seals on the cut-out????

I worked as a meter fitter for a few years and we were always told to look out for people who by-pass the meter or tamper with it. If a seal was cut or missing and you could see that recent work had been carried out on the DB or tails it was never a problem and nothing was ever done about it...

Interior lights on PIR's, anyone know of any?

Yes there is the switch PIR idea, the only thing is that its the common area of a block of flats over about 5 levels. This will work and the switches would pickup all the flats. Its just expensive, as i would need the one that works without the use of a neutral and i need about 15 of them. The...
