Hot water runs dry at the taps.

I drained down the water at my mother in laws to move a basin and radiator. Now the central heating seems to run fine, however the hot water to all the taps keeps running dry after only a minute or so. What I do know is the copper cylinder in the airing cupboard is filling up, as water is...

changing drains hopefully a simple solution!!!!

I have dug out a u-trap drain by the side of my house, which previously serviced the kitchen sink. I am going to use this access to my drains for a new toilet being plumbed in upstairs. Now what I have left is a drain hole about 100mm in diameter about 250mm away from the house and about 250mm...

Ripped up tiles and starting again

I tiled my first floor only last weekend. This was onto a 12mm thick WBP plywood (as unable to source any 15mm as per BALs instructions) BALs floor primer, and I used BALs flexible floor adhesive (not there rapid set stuff) and then grouted the floor 24 hours later with flexible grout. It has...

Thanks for the speady response. Are there any pros and cons to each option, as it appears that the first option maybe the quickest and cheapest, however I could be wrong. Thanks jeremy

Loss of hot water pressure on a mixer shower

As title really when using the mixer tap for the bath everything is fine, however when trying to use the shower attachment attached to the taps you either get all hot (hot tap turned fully open and cold just slightly opened)or all cold (when the cold tap is opened up enough to bring the water...

    Tin baths

I am just about to install a tin bath, and unlike the plastic types of bath it does not have wooden strips running around it to mount the L shaped brackets (the brackets are not included too). What do people do with these baths to connect/tie them to the wall to stop movement between the bath...

How much for a tracking repair on Zafria

Local to me at an independant tyre specialist it cost £25 for front and rear done on a laser machine, it checks for toe in/out, camber, and caster. They even give tou a print out before and after. For just the basic tracking it is £20, so only five pounds less.

How good is a dishwashwer ?

It seems that the only reason you are considering a dish washer is to clean your chip pan, have you not considered alternative methods of cooking? That said I have always had a dishwasher and would not be without one, and agree with all that is said above. However Seimens are the same as...

    Tiling up to laminate floor

From my personal experience only lay laminate floors in places were water is not present, as eventually the laminate will blow at the joints. I know you can seal/glue these, but personally I only ever put laminate floors down in bedrooms now. HTH Jeremy

Masking tape removal from new bath

Spray furniture polish over the glue residue, assuming the tape backing has come off, leave for about 10/15 mins then wipe clean with a dry cloth, repeat if necessary. If this does not work then I'm sorry I'm all out of ideas. Jeremy
