    Sub-main set up

At the moment the supply comes into the house, service fuse, meter then into an old voltage operated earth trip. This will be replaced by a couple of time delayed rcds. One for the house board and one potentially for the submain to the workshop which will also be suitably fused down. I hope this...

    1st Floor insulation query

My loft is indeed insulated to the minimum requirement of 270mm. The insulation is partially for heat insulation but mainly for sound insulation. As i have the ceilings down i thought it would be a good idea to do this.

Hi there. Just finished installing a texecom premier elite alarm system. The system was sitting nice and tidily with no faults. Thought I would do my first set and trigger the pir in the hall to create an alarm situation. I did this successfully but could not reset the system. It came up with...

    texecom ac mains failure

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to site tomorrow armed with a replacement panel. I'm just going to swap the power supply first and see if that does the trick. If not then the board will get swapped aswell. I shall check that option when I hook the laptop in. Thanks again.

    Extractor fan isolation query

To all that replied i thank you for your input. Indeed when installing new fans i follow the manufacturers instructions which more often than not tell you to install an isolation point. I can see both sides of the argument and i guess it all comes down to a little interpretation. Its not...
