Hi there. Just finished installing a texecom premier elite alarm system. The system was sitting nice and tidily with no faults. Thought I would do my first set and trigger the pir in the hall to create an alarm situation. I did this successfully but could not reset the system. It came up with bell tamper on the keypad. I have already manually tested the bell and strobe successfully. As it Was the end of the day I powered down the panel and let the bells time out. Any ideas what it could be before I go back on Friday.? First port of call will be looking at the lid tamper on the bell boxes.

A very long cable run to the SAS can cause this kind of fault due to voltage drop when the siren sounds - when in Engineer mode all tampers are isolated so your "bell test" may not have shown the fault ;)

OR bell microswitch not bent out , when bell sounds it vibrates causing tamper.....

Thanks for the input guys! I got there on friday and inspected the bell box. It turned out to be a loose connection on one of the MSW terminals. The bell must have vibrated the wire loose!
