Markings to wall under my boiler

Just an update, I did check the outside pipe where the pressure overflow part is and it all seems fine, no blockages. I believe the other pipe is the fresh water feed but it goes into the plasterboard wall so no way for me to check. There doesn't seem to be any moisture anywhere and no leaks...

Markings to wall under my boiler

Thank you, I will check that out. As far as I can see, there is only a boiler pressure overflow pipe outside, but I will check that out. Well spotted, no, dried paint, I thought the same as you when I first investigated it, but dry as a bone.

Markings to wall under my boiler

Hi, I live in a four year old new build. I noticed this morning whilst checking the pressure of my boiler that under the boiler, there are two pipes which go into the wall from the base of the boiler. There are now visible cracks in the pain to the side and above the two pipes as well as a...

    Newish (3years) bathroom tiles

Thanks for posting, you are right, I managed to find a pic from the day I got my keys and that plastic trim was like that. But the top tile was flush with the plastic trim. It has very slightly started to stick up. I have tried to point it out in the below pictures. Also, I am getting some...

    Newish (3years) bathroom tiles

Hi, can anyone point me in the right direction as to what I need to do to sort this corner out? It is a 3 year old new build. The plastic strips which go along the edges of these tiles in the boxing at the back of the bath seem to be cracking and coming out of line. Have checked and there is no...

    Setting sleepers in sloping garden

I do think it would look nice to do it and looks like I did get a good price although sleepers not included. I am just a little gutted about having to have the lawn pulled up and re-turfed after so much work trying to make it healthy.

    Setting sleepers in sloping garden

Happy Mother's Day everyone. Several of my neighbours have been setting sleepers in their sloping back gardens and I would quite like to do the same. I can't do it myself due to back issues, but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on ways to cut costs. The garden slopes down towards my...

    Fence Paint/Treatment Recommendations

Thanks for the recommendation. Do you think Harvest Brown would be a good match for the natural colour of this wood? Also, did you find you could get away with one coat or did you need to go back for a second coat?

    Fence Paint/Treatment Recommendations

My fence is about 2.5 years old and is starting to fade. Can anyone recommend the best treatment paint I should get applied to it? It is going quite green in areas. I have got about 11/12 panels to do. Much appreciated.

    Turf keeps dying

Just a quick update to say thanks for everyone’s input and help on this. I purchased a fertiliser spreader and followed some of the advice given on here and did not cut the lawn short. I now cut on the highest blade setting on the mower which has worked wonders with moisture retention. The...

Replacing standard light switch with dimmer

Hi, fan works independently of switch, have had no issues @ajohn, not too sure what could be causing that, seems very odd.

Replacing standard light switch with dimmer

Thanks very much, it is working perfectly. No flickering and nothing has blown up yet. First time I have done one of these. Thanks again!

Replacing standard light switch with dimmer

Yup, it is an LED dimmer with suitable wattage, rather than the cheap £5 ones you can get and all of the 10 leds are dimmable which are in the fitting.

Replacing standard light switch with dimmer

Just one light, it is just a bedroom, nothing fancy, single light and then looks to be another fan control switch on same wall for if you want to extract the air out of the room. There is also an isolator switch up high which turns the extractor fan off if you need to use it. Not too sure what...

Replacing standard light switch with dimmer

Would be grateful if someone could advise me on what to do here. I have a standard on/off single light switch. Have upgraded the ceiling fitting to a LED one and would like to remove standard wall switch and put in a dimmer. I have got a Varilight V-Pro 1-Gang 2-Way LED Dimmer Switch. But...

    New fridge sticking out

Thanks for your post. Have double checked and from the wall, the cabinet is 59. That includes the door. As you say, there are lots of fridges which have a good depth, but they don’t tend to have a water dispenser. The one I am interested in has these dimensions.. H185 x W59.5 x D66.8cm But...

    New fridge sticking out

Hi, I bought my new build house two years ago. It came with a cheap Zanussi fridge. But it is just too small to fit the food in. Several times, I have come down in the morning and the door has popped open. Have been looking at replacement fridges, preferably with a water dispenser and I am...

    Re-Painting Kitchen Units

Lots of people are re-painting their kitchen units to modernise their kitchens. I bought my house off-plan 1.5 years ago. The kitchen and house are 1.5 years old and I have always thought that the kitchen looks quite dated. Seems too new to tear out and go to the expense of getting a new one...

Suitable plasterboard rawl plugs for 40 inch TV

I would like to mount a TV on the wall in my bedroom using an articulating mount. I got a company in to do another room, they were very expensive and didn't do a great job to be honest. They used the following mount...

Everything is going mouldy in my shed

Hello, I have a 2 year old shed. It is nothing special, felt on the roof seems good, but I am finding that mould has been forming inside. I treated the entire exterior with Ronseal paint in summer 2019 when it was one year old. Is there any way of stopping this? There small spots on the roof...
