    CDA Fan oven strange problem

I’m not an appliance engineer but as an electrician I have replaced a few oven elements in my time. Anyway my own oven started playing up yesterday, was cooking for 9 people and it had been on about during the morning. During a critical time (just as I was getting the Yorkshire pudding in) the...

    Check Valve possible solution?

We actually discovered it when the customer asked us to tighten a loose basin hot tap. I isolated the cold into the boiler which should have isolated the hot taps but when my lad loosened the tap connector it was still running! We check all the other hot taps in the property and they were all...

    Check Valve possible solution?

Hi chaps. Just did a boiler change from vented to combi. The customer did have a shower which was running through a salamander pump. The pump has now been removed as it’s redundant but water is mixing in the shower valve and it’s affecting hot water performance dramatically at all hot...

    Is there such a thing?

Hi chaps Is there such a thing as a wifi input status monitor? I'd like a device that will connect to my wifi network and allow me to see the status of various inputs so I can remotley monitor if my garage door is accidentally left open for example via a mobile app. There are inexpensive wifi...

    Vertical Flue Advice

I am gas safe registered, I just haven’t ever fitted a boiler with a vertical flue. I imagine you were lucky enough to have fitted one before you fitted one for the first time. Thanks for the help though.

    Vertical Flue Advice

Hi chaps I’m taking out a Worcester Greenstar tomorrow amd replacing it with an Ideal. The existing flue is vertical and runs through the attic of the bungalow and terminates near the ridge on a pitched roof. The new flue will follow the same route. I’ve never fitted a vertical flue before...

    Polyplumb UFCH Problems

The valves are definitely open, they do have actuators one top of each valve and they do open and close dependent on the zone thermostat. The pump is also running. I have checked that the manifold isolation valves are open as well. The water is hot as far as the mixer valve and I can’t...

    Polyplumb UFCH Problems

Hi chaps, I'm looking for a little help with an UFCH system. The customer complaint is that none of the heating zones appear to be working, I have been to look at the system, all zone valves are open and the boiler is firing. There is hot water as far as the mixing valve but it doesnt seem to...

    Concealed Shower Valve

I fortunately not, I did suggest that they do just that. I prefer bar showers but they have no plans to remodel the bathroom for a while and they have no spare tiles. somebody should make a nice chrome plate predrilled for a bar shower and big enough to cover the hole left by a concealed valve!!

    How does this come off?

I have actually done that, it’s a geberit valve. I’ve ordered one already and it’s supposed to be compatible with the existing cradle but I do t think it will be. These are pictures that of the broken valve. It has two hooks on the bottoms which engage on the outer rim of the cradle but the new...
