    Children's room wall storage and wardrobe unit

    Do I need to do a PVA coat on old brick work before I apply the hardwall? It's over a hundred years old and in places and has eaten up masonry bits. What's best policy on applying skim coats? Let the hardwall set for an hour or so and then apply multi-finish without a coat of PVA or let it go...

    Found out that a long handle scraper works a treat, the sharp blade cuts right in and under. The reason I'm removing it is because bonding plaster is hydrophilic and draws water through the brickwork which is not a problem if the bonding plaster is a fair way above ground level.

    Sealant or grout?
