    Fan extractor in loft space

We have a fan extractor that currently goes through the roof tiles. I am changing the roof next week and I’m wondering if there is an attachment I can plug into the eaves vent so I can connect the fans flexible pipe to it to avoid having a cut on the roofs membrane. Does anything like that exists?

    Hinges recessed too deep

All the door hinges in this house have been recessed too deep as in photo. The new hinge holes are in a different place. What’s the best thing to do. Usually I re-drill the holes with 4.5mm drill bit and fit 5mm dowels with gorilla expandable glue and fill the gap with filler ready for the...

    Flex around boiler flow pipe

My gas fitter wrapped the boiler isolator cable around the flow pipe of the boiler that gets hot. Although it only gets hot up to 60c isn’t that a bad practice for damaging the outer sheath of the cable ?

    Connecting 6mm to hob cable

I ended up installing a flush MK cooker outlet, it didn't take that long as the back was a breeze block easily drilled out. I did use a 47mm flush box that was a bit deeper than expected. Used a standard grommet, 6mm cable went through fine. The problem is I did not use a mask while drilling...

Where to cut for a letter box

They do two different thicknesses letter boxes some start as low as 20-40mm. I like the idea of fitting it on the right panel rather than on the door.

Cladding internal garage roof or not?

The roofer is putting a one piece rubber sheet so he said it will not leak. He suggested the cladding as tenants tend to fit things at ceiling level thus making holes in the rubber sheet. The cladding just stop then from doing this.

Kitchen worktop no lip on one side

My joiner cut the kitchen worktop on one side flush with the carcass of the base unit. So there is no lip on one side where the kitchen sink clips can crap onto. Are they any other type of clips I can improvise or I guess the alternative to cut a piece of thin timber and screw it at the edge of...
