    Garden/Office floor concrete or wood

Offife/Garden room: Would prefer timber joists and floorboards over concrete. internally it would be circa 2.5 mrts squared. What distance is required between sub soil covered with DPM and joists. I take it some air bricks would be needed? Although not a big deal what is the kind of price...

    Soil against garage walls

Intended 6*3 garage build would need removing soil nigh on 1 mrt high just to get to ground level. That would entail also building a garden wall. I'm ok doing that on the side with a path but at the rear can I put anything inbetween blocks and soil to prevent damp. Thanks

Garage blocks face down or wood inner

First I take it building garage with blocks laid on flat side is easier then on edge? Also is this better insulation than inner wood frame with insulation of some kind. (Part of the garage would be a small room. Thanks

    Flat roof improvements on bungalow

Moved to a number of bungalows. Never considered those with flat roof extensions other than small utility. However that removes a great number from the possible move to list. Is there any improvements to felt type ones to make them more waterproof for longer? Of particular concern are the older...

Smart TV or not - no internet

We don’t have or at this point intend to have internet. However it seemed sensible to have a smart TV in case in the future we do. Then I read the leaflet of neighbours new smart TV which mentioned fixing wherever possible on-line and upgrading software. So if we purchased a smart TV but don’t...

We had extension circa 18 months ago last year and all seemed fine). The...

    parts and labour worth

Got quotes in for Worcester 32CDi Compact plus rads etc. Quotes with 10 year warranty is far higher than the 5 years as I would expect but just how much is that extra 5 years worth? I'm tempted to go for 5 years a saving of at least £800

    pump overrun or loft tanks

Bungalow- Getting quotes for all new CH. Got it down to W 32CDi or Baxi Eco Blue due to smaller physical size. As past posts have said Pump over run can be noisy (Last place had Ideal logic, never again). So am I right in thinking put up with pump overrun or have tanks in loft?
