Seeking advice on cost effective scaffold options

I was thinking more in the secondhand market. Would I get a Youngman tower for 6 to £700?

Seeking advice on cost effective scaffold options

Thanks. I’ll bear all this in mind. Is there a particular scaffold set/tower I should be looking for if my diver is around 600?

Ha! I got that wrong. What is the better option out of steel or aluminium?

Seeking advice on cost effective scaffold options

Sorry to revive this old thread I posted last year, but I never got around to the job. Reading through the thread it sounds like I want a tower, something better than a ragged old steel or aluminium one, 1.8m width. I’m thinking I’ll buy one second hand, use it to get all my jobs done this...

How do you access the cartridge on a tap like this?

Thanks. I'll check again when I get home. I couldn't feel or see one, even using a mirror, but I might have missed it.

How do you access the cartridge on a tap like this?

This is leaking at the handle so I think the ceramic cartridge needs replacing. How do I get to it?

    This is the wardrobe.

Good paint for metal windows (internal)?

In the course of trying to get rid of some mould marks I managed to strip parts of the window frame of paint, as per the picture. I’d like to repaint the whole frame. What’s a good solution here? Eggshell white with primer underneath?

    Tips for painting old wardrobe

We have some built-in wardrobes that look like they’re from the 70s or 80s and we want to freshen them up by painting them in a white eggshell. However I’ve never used eggshell before and I recently had a nightmare trying to use quick drying gloss on some woodwork elsewhere. Is quick drying...

I’ve got two of the same fridges. How can I troubleshoot the broken one?

Turned out it was a simple thermostat. Fridge is working fine now. Thanks guys!

I’ve got two of the same fridges. How can I troubleshoot the broken one?

So I’ve managed to get inside the unit (had to wait for delivery of the right Torx screwdriver). Which two connectors do I need to bridge to test the part (see pic 1). Also I jumped the gun and bought a part online before seeing the part number inside. I bought a K59 and the original says K57...

I’ve got two of the same fridges. How can I troubleshoot the broken one?

Thanks guys. That’s really helpful advice. Can I use literally any wire for the test? Even some from a plug cable? (That’s a he only thing I can think of that I have lying around the house.)

I’ve got two of the same fridges. How can I troubleshoot the broken one?

So, I've got answers to these questions: Both fridges are extremely quiet (the good one included), so it's hard to tell, but I can hear an occasional bubbling sound from the black tub thing at the back of the fridge near the floor. There is no click when I turn the temp up and down, but...

I’ve got two of the same fridges. How can I troubleshoot the broken one?

Thanks. I’ll try. I can’t see any leaks back there, or ice or dust. Light is on but doesn’t seem to be cooling at all. No idea what it could be.

I’ve got two of the same fridges. How can I troubleshoot the broken one?

I've had a similar product with my Liebherr fridge here. Not impressed so far. @JohnD would this potentially help fix a fridge (no freezer) with a similar issue?

I’ve got two of the same fridges. How can I troubleshoot the broken one?

I have two Liebherr fridges (T1710) and one of them is no longer cooling. The inside of the fridge is basically room temperature, although the light does come on. The coils at the back don’t have much dust on them, but I cleaned them anyway, and that didn’t work. I have two of the same model in...

How can I improve the finish on this piece of wood using Danish Oil?

I already sanded it. I took the finish off completely (or at least I thought I did), with a sander using 80 grit paper (then 220 grit). Then I started with the coats of danish oil.

How can I improve the finish on this piece of wood using Danish Oil?

The lighter area is where the sun comes in from a window to the right. It’s had about seven or eight coats now, and I still can’t get a uniform finish. Is there anything I can do with Danish Oil to achieve that? At the minute, I’m just applying the oil, letting it soak and buffing it.

Do I need primer for this paint job?

I’m repainting the woodwork on my house. Some of the sills are fine. Some are starting to flake and one will need repairing with filler. Am I okay to paint over these after removing the flaky paint or do I need to go back to bare wood and put primer on? The paint I’ve got is Sandtex exterior...
