Can a heat pump dryer be installed on carpet?

Can a HP tumble dryer be installed in a carpeted room or is it hard floor only as with vented and condensers?

Looking to replace open fronted gas fire with high efficiency glass fronted. Shop saying not possible? Is this true? Dormer extended upwards.

I'm looking to replace this fire with a high efficiency gas fire. We believe there's a brick fireplace behind the drywall. The house is a dormer which has had a first floor added so there is a class 2 flue surrounded by brick at ground floor level. Then enclosed in drywall on the first floor...

Gas Flue in situ. Thinking of installing a multi-fuel stove.

Good advice - can anyone recommend a really efficient gas fire. That doesn't have grills and looks like a real fire? I remember the old grill type making our living room really warm growing up but they they don't look great.

Gas Flue in situ. Thinking of installing a multi-fuel stove.

Got a limited supply. We have a carport / garage we could use. This is a big factor. Need to really consider it. Is a heat pump worth looking into an alternative?

Gas Flue in situ. Thinking of installing a multi-fuel stove.

I appear to have a gas flu but I was looking into getting a multi fuel stove. Given that a full installation with all materials would've cost me £3.2k when the engineer quoted me via text thinking we had an appropriate flue, I am wondering if it's actually worth investing in especially as the...

School Bus Stopping Outside House. Kids entering driveway and came up to window. Scratched car.

Is the Tapo decent at night too? Can you see any issue with this being placed in my ground level bungalow. Does it have an app you can watch remotely? Is a subscription needed?

School Bus Stopping Outside House. Kids entering driveway and came up to window. Scratched car.

It does block access when my wife leaves for work. We have cars parked steeply which they touch and run around. If the handbrakes were to fail it could lead to serious harm for the kids running around them and pushing on them. I'm actually considering CCTV.

School Bus Stopping Outside House. Kids entering driveway and came up to window. Scratched car.

So the bus companies say there's no need for signage. They say they don't need a registered drop off point for school runs. Their insurers don't need to be aware of where the pick up and drop off is occurring.

School Bus Stopping Outside House. Kids entering driveway and came up to window. Scratched car.

There's definitely no signage. Is this required for school buses?

School Bus Stopping Outside House. Kids entering driveway and came up to window. Scratched car.

I'm going to be even more unpopular then. The neighbours are very keen for the bus to remain to be picked up outside my drive. They can't see my problem at all.

School Bus Stopping Outside House. Kids entering driveway and came up to window. Scratched car.

We have a group of kids who get picked up outside our house. Early teenage years. Every morning they're on our drive chasing each other round the car which has been scratched. I didn't see who did it and I don't have CCTV. I just heard the "owwwww and gigling and you scratched it no you did."...

Grind back bricks rather than or before repointing? Is the quoted work worthwhile?

Thanks. Any particular etiquette to use to turn down the quote?

Grind back bricks rather than or before repointing? Is the quoted work worthwhile?

Must be my misunderstanding. Do you think the work is required?

Wouldn't do anything harmful. Think I will leave everything as is.

Grind back bricks rather than or before repointing? Is the quoted work worthwhile?

The quote came back as £675 to Raking out of all bed joints to a minimum of 25mm• Repointing with fresh mortar below DPC in front and side elevations• Joints to be raked out of existing patio slabs on front and re-filled• Small concrete strip taken out and re-filled with fresh concrete to...

I've heard they're a good sign if you believe in that sort of thing.

Grind back bricks rather than or before repointing? Is the quoted work worthwhile?

I asked them to come and look to see if work needed doing to price up if so.

    No RCD - Implications?

Will an EICR likely recommend work doing? I probably should have had one done a couple of years ago when we bought however we were in a bidding war so paid over the market value. Would any equipment likely overload it or cause hazard. E.g. I want to use a powerful floor sander etc to renew...

Painting old garage window and door. Getting a few more years out of them.

Hi all What's the best way to strip down this old window (no lintel), and this old door on my garage. Need to paint and get another year or two out of them. Got loads of leftover Ducksback green from the fence panels but assuming this wouldn't be appropriate???
