Gap between wall and new ceiling

Ooops! Yes meant 5 to 15mm, just worried it will just fall into void as nothing holding it there. I guess scrim tape would help with this?

Gap between wall and new ceiling

Hi after some advise, i've taken down an old lath and plaster ceiling (horrible job!) and installed new plasterboard ceiling. Have some gaps were the wall meets the ceiling, ranging from 5mm up to 15mm. I can use expanding foam on most sections but this bit has a void beyond the gap and not sure...

    Shower pump replacement

Just after some advise on whether or not this Stuart turner pump will work as a replacement for the grundfos pump that is currently in place? The flexi pipe seems to be different in size and I think the pipe work would need adjusting? Wondering if anyone more knowledgable would be able to...

    Driveway Drainage

I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice and the process to take to add proper drainage to my driveway. The house is situated on the side of a road down a slight hill. Whenever we have heavy rain we get a build up of water outside the front door, as the water just runs down the...

    Help identifying plaster type

Yeah i guess that was the wrong question to ask. I think i just wanted to confirm it was gypsum and that it was stopping any moisture from escaping. I guess the first thing is to remove all the plaster and then assess it. I dont know for sure the high water outside has caused the issue, the...

    Help identifying plaster type

I have some plaster work cracking and salts appearing on a plastered outside wall. I think this is due to a small amount of flooding outside. Now I am starting to strip back the cracking plaster and work out what plaster is currently there and how to proceed. The house is 1920's with lots of...

    Vaulting ceiling or raise ceiling

When I looked through the "loft hatch", there appears to be no bracing just the ceiling joists attached to the pitched roof rafters and onto the wall between the 2 properties. I've no idea if these continue across into neighbours house, should this matter if the joists on top of the dividing wall?

    Vaulting ceiling or raise ceiling

All the flat roof part was extending a while ago by the previous owners. The pitched roof part was the old kitchen, which has now been incorporated into the new kitchen. I've considered the sun tunnels, but to be honest would prefer the look of the velux's if i can do it.

Cavity wall insulation quote - advice please

I would say that seems high. I am due to get cavity insulation on my semi detached house shortly and the original quote was £855, so I am paying a third of that. I don't have the largest house mind. This is in the south east as well.

    Changes to existing loft conversion

I'm trying to work out what steps I need to take and what things are needed to re-do an existing loft conversion. The house itself was sold to me as a 3 bed house with one of the bedrooms in the loft. The conversion was definitely done pre-building regs as their are no records of building...

Ah thats perfect! Dont know how I didnt see that, thank you! Just took photos of the good bits to try and get an idea of mortar mix, thought that would be better than pics of the missing pointing.
