My only concern is risk of damage as its in a garage and will run under a door other than I see no reason why not and nothing in the regs, etc. Wanted to check with the people who are experts on here!!!

Is it permitted to clip SWA cable in a garage to the wall horizontally just above the floor level? The only alternative is to add 20m of cable, add a junction box and clip to surface of wall up to roof space and go into roof clip to rafters and through 2 walls and down again to get to CU?

Sorry for the confusion. The RCD is remote from the CU. The CU is a LLutron homeworks panel that only has MCB's protecting each lighting circuit. The RCD is in a metalclad box in the garage 3 meteres from the Lutron panel so there is T+E from CU (lutron) to the RCD (in a hager metalclads...

Thanks Spark, just to be clear for the outdoor lighting circuit that goes through the RCD if the RCD trips I should test R1 +R2 for the link from CU to the RCD and a separate test from the RCD to end of circuit. Same for IR? Thanks Dingbat will give them a call.

Conversion box basicallly junction box with various knockouts for swa and normal compresion glands. Takes SWA and connects to cable for garden supply switches that dont. The garden switches for pond take 9mm cable max. Blagdon pond switches are the ones supplied which will not take swa.
