There is power to the oven as the cooling fan is working when it is switched on. Swapped fuses over as well to rule any issues there.

If there are 2 does it seem unusual for both to go at once. The tenant said the power had been tripping recently (they've just shoved a huge american freezer in the flat!) - could this have blown them or is the cooker isolated from everything else. Sorry electrics are not my area as you can see.

Ah partof the problem is my mistake it isn't a fan oven - it was the cooling fan i heard when it was running not a true 'fan' so apolgies for that. Looking at the manual does the 'grill' element do all the heating ...

Hi, I've recently had to have an high strength external grey pvc pipe routed from my pumping station in a basement flat to a nearby drain which is 2m higher than the pump. The pipe will always have a head of water in it so i need to lag and case it before ther really cold weather arirves...

Yes checked the Consumer Unit straight away to see if any circuits had tripped but all of them are fine.

Sadly no light whatsoever...hence my assumption the power has gone completely.

I've just checked that fuse and again it looks fine - will it always be very evident if the fuse has gone ? Time to get a multimeter on the job and see where the power is stopping.

Ah now i wasn't aware of that fuse where the supply cable enters - will have a check of that and replace.

Well he fixed it :):):) The boiler was ok but he cleared a few bits out of it. These two pipes were coked up very badly, it would appear the last plumber who previously looked at the problem moved these around to see if they we blocked and loosed the deposit thus blocking the valve they flowed...
