I am fitting a water heater.

The expansion valve has 1/2" female input and output. I am going into 15mm copper.

Do I need to source 1/2" male to 15mm compression fittings or can I just ditch the nut and olive from a 15mm compression coupler and it with some Jet Blue?

Thanks.

I think you would probably get away with it. The 15mm compression will be 1/2" parallel. The heater might have taper threads. I would try screwing it in (without the Jet Blue), and see how it feels.
