10 years in prison

Its easy to take a sexual predator and murderer and look back at their past, with a journalistic aim of showing police/court/social service incompetence, to identify possible early warning signs that were missed - but how many people here think that a 19 year old having sex with a 15 year old girl friend, with her permission, should go to prison for up to 14 years (as per sec 9,2 Sexual Offences act)?

That wasn't the statement.
The statement was the likelihood of gaining employment.
Huntley was a persistent serial deviant, who was known to the authorities, yet was not only allowed to go unpunished, was allowed to offend again and again then, to cap it all, was not stopped from gaining employment in a primary school.

It upsets me that the real issues aren't being properly addressed. Hindsight is a wonderful thing to have, but in reality, the agencies WE pay to look out on our behalf are failing miserably. They are not fit for purpose.

If anyone thinks that Huntley being able to gain a job working with children is a horrible injustice, then please bear in mind that his cohort is now free to carry on their work !
