Need to fix 1000 kitchen wall unit to dot n dab wall. Problem I have is the void behind plasterboard is 45mm. Was planning to cut plasterboard and batten wall for stronger fixing . any other suggestions on a suitable fixing . ( to add one side of unit will be in block work )

hanging rail, and put the fixings through to the wall wherever's convenient.

The rail spreads the load, and also means you are not forced to put screws at the same point as every cabinet hanger.

If you use long screws to the wall, you'll need to pack the back of the plasterboard to prevent crushing. Expanding foam would probably do.
