we have 2 rooms living room and dining room with double doors seperating.

we have now had the doors removed and the gap bricked up with blocks.

but the blocks are narrower in depth to the original wall by approx 2-3cm. the builder says it cant be dot n dabbed to make flush with original walls as its only a single skin block wall.

how true is this as i was hoping to dot n dab as its quicker and cheaper than rendering.

thanks

Rush, rush, hurry, hurry, slip, slap slop. Sand and cement and do it properly - you've not got the depth to d+d anyway. What's it going to cost extra - only a few quid, it's just the time.
