So a landmark study on the effects of Austerity and they estimate an extra 120,000 people have died due to the policies enacted since 2010.

So is it a price worth paying?

Cambridge University’s Professor Lawrence King, who was involved in the study, said:

Austerity does not promote growth or reduce deficits – it is bad economics. It is also a public health disaster. It is not an exaggeration to call it economic murder.

a person who had, say, chronic bronchitis, asthma or copd will shuffle off quicker if they live in a cold damp conditions.

their death certificate will obviously not say "cause of death: cold damp flat"

there are few ailments that will be improved by poor nutrition or living conditions.

Were you seriously expecting the death certificate to show it?

What's the life expectancy of a poor man in North Kensington compared to a rich man in South Kensington?

What austerity?

Why are they living in cold damp conditions then? Must be the tories fault eh?
Mebbe they need some external cladding to keep warm? The labour councillors will
provide them with plenty of that stuff eh? All foc at the tax payers expense.
Still... if its a nasty "quitter" you'll hardly be too bothered if they shuffle off the mortal coil.

Did he remember to mention in his study the government salary he's being paid to come up with that nonsense?

Roger I suggest you get upto speed with the terminology. I suspect you have a disliking of experts?

Like I said..What austerity?
My local hospital treats thousands of foreigners foc.
People who would probably have died had they stayed in their own countries.
Its great that they are prioritised in front of the local population who have paid in too the system all their lives.
Isn't it?
Imagine paying towards something when, if you were smart enough you could just have had it free all along.

Best just let the locals die off in squalor. Most of them will be pesky "quitters" anyrode.
Don't you agree?
And of course the government can just requisition their properties to pay for the care home costs that they will see early in life.

How many are now dying prematurely because of Nu Labour's/Brown's naivety in believing that diesels are better for the environment?

Another 'expert' convinced Brown to encourage motorists to change to diesel so that he could save the world. :)

Perhaps more people will be dying now that gay people have won't the right for the NHS to fund a HIV suppressant drug so that they can continue to have unprotected sex by choice, at the expense of say someone who needs a cancer drug after getting cancer not by choice.
