15 cm Letter slot?

We moved in recently to this house and it appears the letter slot is coming loose at the front and the spring in the slot door has broken off, leaving the flap to be at the mercy of the breeze (which is leaving the hall very drafty).

Problem is the width of the slot is 15cm...I can't seem to find any replacement slots at B&Q or Homebase...am I searching for the wrong thing, or is it a case that 15cm slots are not around anymore?

Try an architectural ironmonger rather than a shed. Far greater range. Brum used to be the centre of that trade so finding one should still be possible. Alternatively if the letter flap is really old and you want to retain it you might want to get a spring maker to make you up a new spring. the other possibility is to try an architectural salvege yards for an equivalent. The DIY sgeds are pretty useless on a large number of things IMHO and should only be used as a last resort
