I have fitted a new fan in the bathroom of my bungalow and will be venting it via the kitchen to outside.

A neighbour said that you can use the same hole to vent 2 fans ( i.e the existing kitchen one and the new one). What kit is there do do this?

TIA

Im not sure if this is a good idea, you could end up with the wrong smells in the wrong room !! I always keep them completly seperate !

You can get a backdraught shutter which should stop the wrong smells going to the wrong places.

Personally I would want one duct for each fan.

You can use one fan to suck from 2 vents, and exhaust through one vent.

You need to fit fans which have automatic closing shutters, to avoid venting from one room into the other. They are much more expensive than standard fans. You can get 4" tee-pieces for about £10-15 which will connect up your ducting. All in all you'll be better off venting separately.

Concur - even with back draught shutters and fans with closing shutters, it is far better to have two vents outside.

You can vent to the underside of the soffit easily usually. How is the kitchen currently ducted to outside?

what about a Y peice
Or maybe the round to rectangular adaptors and run side by side through existing hole.
