Ollski: If you can let me have a new gas valve for a £10 I'll take it,
If you want full price, can I pay by Visa,
then return it minus the KNOB and claim back from Visa ???
re damage or something like it ?

Gasmanuk: If its the same as my BROWN knobby, I'll take it.
Even if it was PINK... I'd take it.... I'm not fussy as long as it fits.

Gasmanuk.

Sounds good,
How do you contact someone on this site.
Could give you my works address, if you wouldn't
mind posting it to me. Will settle up by return post.

A NEW knobby...brilliant

You can put your email address in your profile if you like,
but not in a Posting here.
The problem with having email addresses on the web is
that spammers harvest them and you will be bombarded
with offers of knobs that might not be what you had in mind.

Sometimes persistence pays. I've got a brown knob on an old ITT gas valve (UK 48 RBB01, same as Maclaren I think). Looks exactly like the one in your picture. :D

Thought I would let you all know that I never did get a new knob,
just made do with a pair of mole grips for the past 5 years. :D

Old boiler was still working fine, no noise, nice blue flame.
but for some unknown reason I have just invested in a new heat only,
condensing boiler with all the trimmings at a cost of £3K

Brain fade I think was the main reason.

For future reference Brown was 240v and the blue was 24v or the other way about I cant quite remember that far back

I was going to bury it down the garden, but the heating guys put it in the front garden and the local bell ringer in his truck went past and it dissappeared. :(

In which case it's off on it's way to China and will soon return as a shiney new Rover.... I hope that they get the graffiti off.. :p
