2 lights controlled together by 2 switches

If we look at that ceiling rose as if it was a single lamp, it would make sense. But there is another lamp running off the same switches, using the same SL. With a borrowed neutral, probably.

All will become clear when he comes back from Argos!

Managed to find the wire. That goes to the single wire light fixture

Ok.
The cable with the 2 browns is the SWITCH CABLE.
The cable that goes to the other light is the LINK CABLE.
The remaining cable is the FEED CABLE.

Connect ONE of the browns from the switch cable, and the brown from the link cable, to the L of the light fitting.
Connect the two blues to N of the light fitting.
Connect the remaining two browns together in a separate connector block (you may need to buy one).
Connect all the earths to the Earth terminal on the light fitting.

The other light fitting should be obvious.
