2 spurs from one socket

Is it safe to run 2 spurs from a single socket if I put a fused connection unit between the 2 spurs? I'm figuring that the 13A fuse will prevent the 2 sockets ever being overloaded.

Socket on ring > FCU(13A) > 2 sockets

It would save a lot of work if possible.

It will be safe to do that, as all wiring from the FCU is protected by 13Amps.....
