Hi all

Newcomer here, hoping someone can help. To muffle noise from the flat below me (and to make sure they can't hear me), I have decided to lay two underlays and a carpet.

Following the advice of a poster here who designs studios and works in soundproofing, I am laying a dense heavy bottom layer (Tredair Colours Red) followed by a thick spongy layer (Tredair Dreamwalk). I don't need to worry about resulting thickness as the floor is vinyl glued to concrete, so the new flooring will also be glued.

Can anyone advice how to glue the layers? I am thinking; Colours Red glued round edges only, Dreamwalk glued completely to it, then carpet also glued completely. Or would it be better to glue edges only on all 3? Would the resulting space between layers (if only edges glued) help absorb noise? Fingers crossed someone can help :D
