2 Way Switch Question

Hi,

If I have a ceiling light and I require two switches for it e.g. a landing light, do both switches need to be 2 way switches?

I ask this as I have a ceiling light that requires 2 switches. I want one switch to be a standard light switch and the other to be a dimmer. So do both switches have to be 2 way?

Sorry. Stupid question - of course both switches have to be 2 way!

Yes both two way switches, you can get two way dimmers (they differ slightly in the way that you don't turn off by turning the control to 0, they don't turn that far there is a separate switch in them thats opperated by pressing the dimming control in) however you can only have one of them per light (unless you get one of those special master/slave dimmer set ups)
