Is it quite simple to convert a 2 way light switch back to a 1 way? I have a 2 way switch in my front room, but would like to fit a dimmer switch. Dimmer switches cant be fitted on 2 way??? thanks for any replies.

oh yes they can... you can quite easily fit a dimmer to 2 way switching..
.....Providing you have a 2- way dimmer!
If your dimmer has 3 terminals, it can probably be connected to a 2- way switch, but not a second dimmer.
2- way dimming, with two dimmers is a different kettle of fish. That usually requires 'master' and 'slave' dimmers, and the interconnections between them are different.

Some dimmers (crabtree eg) only work with another compatable dimmer.
Most other dimmers work with a regular two way switch.

Thanks for the replies so far guys....i always thought you couldn't fit a dimmer on a 2 way circuit.
What i have is 2 switches in my front room, the first switch works the front room main light. Then in the dinning room section i have the second switch, which is a double switch. Id basically like to convert both to dimmer switches, im not that bothered about, the second ( dining room siwtch ) working both ways......If its a pain to then i may just opt for the front room main light to dimable.... so could i just fit a 2 way dimmer where the first light is??? any comments?...thanks again guys.
