i done a course last year. the cert doesnt have any numbers on but i think its 2381. it says 'level 3 cert. in the requirements for electrical installations (BS7671:june 2001)

if it is a city and guilds cert there will be numbers at the bottom of the cert. from these it will be easy to see what it is relating to.

0312/039433 /238101/zsl9758/1/03/08/86

looks like it is 2381 then

If it helps andrew I can deduce from this that you were born on August 3rd 1986. This means you are a Leo and a Fire Sign. Therefore, you are impulsive, ambitious and inclined to amatuer-dramatics. But you like to help other people when you can. It might also mean you were born in Wolverhampton.
However, I am also assured by the tea-leaves that if you phone/fax/write/e-mail to the City and Guilds, and give your number, they can divulge all you ever want to know.
If you need any more spiritual advice, or indeed luck with future exams, I can be found selling sprigs of "Lucky Heather" outside your nearest shopping center.

Does rather make me wonder what use the the course was if you can't remember what level it was!

No offence, but what else have you forgotten :?:

i knew the course was the 16th edition regs, just wasnt sure of the number.

and i can still remember what was in the course

There are two 16th edition courses, unless they simply changed it's number, mine when I did it back in the dark ages when Dinosaurs ruled the IEE, my course was 2390.

The Cert just says that It is a record of achievement in Electrical Installation Competences, no level mentioned, then in the serial number it has the cours number, as seen above.

I suppose they may have changed the course No as 2390 is possible to confuse with the 2391 Inspection and Testing Course???

Didn't mean to cause offence - and glad you can remember. I do wonder about the use of certificates that not even those awarded them can work out - god help the rest of us! A customer could quite legitamately ask to see your quals and not have a clue what was meant or what it qualified you to do - great for the cowboys!

Of course part P will sort all that out..........retreats quickly with large wooden spoon

What scares me is 1986......

"Ian finally realises that he is overweight, losing his hair and now feeling old"

Could be worse, I could be Jim's age :D

nothing wrong with bein born in 86.....

Well if I was wrong bout Wolverhampton, I think I will apply for a refund for my City and Guilds Horoscope course.
Joking aside Andrew if you have the 2381, then that is the modern 16th edition Regs as you already said. When I did mine (1995) it was 2380. But the C+G change the numbers as often as I change my underwear (so that's at least once a week.)

I was chatting to my mate Geordie Dave today, and he tells me that South Shields people used to be called "Sand-Dancers". Don't know what this means or if it is even still applicable? And even if it is, then no offence meant cause he is a Makem or a Takem Or a Monkey Hanger?
I am born and bred in Portsmouth, and the Southampton lot call us skates amongst other things. It is a Navy Thing apparently.
