400v 3 phase 125A or 63A are a bit commercial or industrial, you don't tend to find them in domestic environments!
I think that word of warning from BR is aimed at people who are asking about how to change a light fitting or install a ring circuit in their house, DIY electrics basically as that isn't what the Blue-room is about.
I don't think that you'd be kicked for asking about how to and the risks involved in setting up an event in a marquee for 300 people!
Yeh - the thing I don't want to do is believe that I am experienced enough and that I should have the confidence to install something like a 63amp tp socket.
This topic was originally to find out about installing a CEEFORM socket in a domestic installation. Therefore I came here to ask. In terms of that topic that you were looking at: I in no way consider myself a professional in terms of power. I can do simple power distro if someone gives me a 125amp socket or something. (Never worked with powerlock.) That is why I would neither think nor attempt to ever install tails to my mains supply, hence coming here to find whether it was a viable option.
I will definitely find out about risks, but don't want to ask about having an "industrial" socket installed in my house. (Anyway, here was more appropriate).
You can always be a little vague with the truth - ask about having a 125A socket installed, tell them what it is for and show them the pics - just fail to mention that it is a house!
The installation of the socket isn't the difficult thing - it should be pretty straight forwards to an electrician.
It will need to be notified to your LABC under part p of the building regs so would be easier to get someone who is a member of a competent person scheme such as an NICEIC, NAPIT, ECA, ELECSA, BRE (can't remember the other )
As for the actual usage the lads at the Blue-Room will have a better idea.
Will probably be able to tell you about the earthing arrangements too - some of which have been discussed in the other thread.
