sorry, keep forgetting that not everyon here knows the lingo..
it's that little brown / black connection block that the wires from the "pool" CU go into that also connect to the meter and to the main CU..
they provide a way of connecting more than 2 cables together.
as an extra to providing the breaker, the socket, a trailing lead of suitable size, you'd most likely need to provide distribution at the other end for the caterers and DJ etc to plug into..
the DJ may not want to plug into the generator.. I've been told they cause all sorts of problems for their kit, from hum on the speakers to voltage variances etc..
your party is unlikely to require full load for all at one time..
caterers will do most of the cooking early on while the lights aren't all needed, and whist eating, the DJ won't be blasting out the techno rave at you etc...

there are other things to consider also, 300 people eating and drinking = long lines for the toilet.. and 300 people trapsing through your house.. might want to considder toilet hire also?

We have plenty of exhibit kit from doing loads of yearly catering exhibitions, and often use it or hire it out to marquee companies (also a couple tee-pee companies). It is also often used for festivals and carnivals etc. We always hire in generators to the majority of sites unless we know the background and loading of the site the kit is destined for. (the main use of the kit is catering exhibitions in the frozen warehouses we maintain. Scope was left to allow headroom for these exhibitions which are an annual occurance).

Supplying a 63amp single phase supply to the caterers can actually be more tricky that supplying a TP 32amp supply. The cable would be smaller, lighter, cheaper, easier to handle and pack away etc. YOu would also get a little more juice for them.
It all depends on what appliances they have though. They will most likely be hiring their appliances too, so don't be too confident on what will turn up!

contact the catering company and tell them you have 3phase available, they probably based their requirements on normal domestic which is ususally single phase..
they may be happy with a smaller 3phase supply..

Also cable coiling doesn't matter for me, as long as the lights stay on. (Which is another reason maybe not to go for a gennie, as it can cut out and not start back up)

THE MAIN ISSUE HERE is if your supply can actually provide a 63 outlet.
You started at 125 and have halfed your requirements!
Post some pics that we can work from and we can tell you if adding a 63amp outlet is viable.

Just everything at your intake position. Take a wide shot of the lot.
If you are supplied overhead from a pole mounted tranny or similar (which could be the case as you sound rural), then a photo or two of that would be good to guestimate the supply capabilities.

given that the house will be "locked down" then it's reasonable to expect that the house will be using minimal power during the "event"...
a 63A 3Phase plug is the best option if it's a common occurence.

I'll get those now, although the supply comes in underground. Don't know where from or where to, but none of the houses on my road are supplied by an overhead cable.

no supply details but given that the meter is limited to 100A/phase max then that's what I'd expect in the cutouts..
