3 round pin sockets ??

2A are fine, for loads up to 2A, just as 13A sockets are OK for loads up to 13A.

As for a 2A socket on a 6A circuit, this is not a problem...13A ones go on circuit breakers up to 32A.

Sure, if the lighting load per outlet may exceed 2A, then sure, 5A it will have to be, but to my mind, they have a little more bulk.

an unfused plug and socket rated at 2A, on a circuit fused at 6A?

not the same as a 13A fused plug on a 32A circuit.
