If memory serves their is a Ford raptor model that has a component that can only be made by 3D printing it. Apparently it's not possible to machine it. (could be bill hooks of course)

@11:53 in the vid. Metal part for Bugatti Chiron - first 3D printed part used in production car ? They are testing brake calipers 3D printed in Titanium.
Ford has a new 3D manufacturing facility in Detroit, I believe, the next generation following their 'assembly lines'... Parts for Shelby Mustang GT500 having a 700hp 5.2-litre V8 - Not electric thank F!

The future! Was impressed to see a 3D printer at the secondary school open evening last week. They have a laser cutter too.

3D Printing is going to be a future engineering trade. A lot of sole traders have started up already making fiddly bespoke stuff. I got some plastic brackets from a guy on ebay who makes them for holding panniers etc to your bike. 4 small brackets to go on my front forks to hold a pannier back bracket. With the suspension forks not being able to be squeezed with pressure i was at a loss to find the perfect fit. Just sent him the circumference and colour.

I guess the place to start is a good grounding in 3D cad ... A good skill for sure.
