4 gang plug sockets?.

I use conduit couplers and bushes when I want two or more accessories together - it ensures they're all square in relation to each other. Nothing worse aesthetically than two sockets/switches etc. right next to each other at different levels. It also gives sufficient spacing for some flat plate accessories.

All true, but the 'box joiners' previously mentioned achieve the same thing.

I suppose that's a matter of opinion. I've used both approaches in my time, and wouldn't say that either has a particularly 'better' result.

I use bushes and a coupler to join back boxes.

The box joiners mentioned earlier do not allow decorative metal or flat plate accessories to be installed.

Presumably only option is two 2 gang sockets next to each other?.

If you are really desperate to have 4 sockets on one plate, then both scolmore and MK seem to have options, not cheap though.
