4 Wire Thermostat... Now with pictures.

Hello I have this room thermostat (programmble type) in my home

The Common is the wire from the boiler and the NO is the DEMAND terminal back to the combi. The other 2 wires are not required, so you wil have to cut and cap off. (check your combi boiler manual for wiring to and from the boiler).

Interestingly, NC in electronics normally means No Connection!

No worries. It's only easy when you know the answer!

More often than that, it means Normally Closed. If it's trying to signify no connection, it would normally be written N/C, or better still, the acronym not used at all!

Yep only 2 connections. Permanent Live to COMMON and Switched Live to Normally_Open.

Edit: a note for anyone searching in the future. Make sure the batteries are fully charged or the device doesn't kick in.
