Not really. x10 in 25 years beats the bldg socs, but some shares I had way back have evaporated. "Virtuality" was one. Virtual reality headsets...Share investment is a long game, your shares would be worth a lot now.
It's not a long game necessarily.
Like the shares in Hesai, to which I brought attention the day before yesterday when I had them at $16, rose through yesterday to $24.
"The index" dropped 10% in the past month. I wouldn't buy the dips just yet, it could go down 30% more.
The 24% drop which started in Dec 21 took 2 years to recover.
The same happens over short and long periods.
Trading / investing - it's only a question of the period.
