"Kingfisher has said for some time that B&Q UK & Ireland can adequately meet local customer needs from fewer stores and that some of the store should be smaller," it said in a statement.

When I look to start a thread, I scan the list to see if the topic is mentioned.

Seems like the bottom is falling out of the DIY store market.

Is this good news for the tradesmen in areas that won't have a shed though.
 
A little while ago Homebase embarked on a similar program of closures.
They said they were slimming down because fewer younger people today were into DIY- perhaps B&Q are doing it for the same reason.

Younger people spend too much time at a screen and not enough actually making or doing things.
