75mm timber connector force

Using some 75mm double sided timber connector and struggling to get them to close up.
Am I just not being tough enough
Got to get some longer bolts as did not manage to fit the external washers. And hire a 90deg drill

they are very awkward are your bolts threaded enough do you have a couple off mm clearance on the bolt

had standard m/c washes not the square plate one.

Now do these washers go flat as I,m putting more than the torque of the bolt and the square washers are bending

do you have any 6" + "G" clamps
