A switch to power a Bathroom TV off - help needed

Why not have a simple pull cord, safe and since the cord will extend down from the ceiling you shouldn't have much trouble interrupting the power supply for the mains adapter.
 
Well it's all been installed now (apart from the tv). The infra red sensor was put up so the sensors is in the underside of the wall where the upper part of the wall has a slight lip to accommodate the frame of the top of the wall. Going to get the tv put in and tested as soon as I get a free hour or two.
 
Just to let you all know, I finally got round to installing the TV into the wall. To be honest, I still haven't fitted it fully so it's flush with the hole I created for it to go in but I'll do this eventually. The final result looks like this...
