I'm doing this for my daughter..............no drawings, just lovely old dad with a nice little steel n 40 years of bashing houses about

As rule of thumb, if you need to put something in to hold something else above the wall up, then you need approval.

Bring back the 80's.............we all drove ford capri's, superhero's had 3 litres and everyone bashed houses about as they pleased!

Is the regs procedure gonna take 6 weeks to get approval or is it quicker than that?

The knockthrough will be structural..............I presume I will have to supply structural engineer calculations to prove the beam n padstones can support the load?

I did the same for my Daughter in 2014 just contacted B/Control they relieved me of aprox £275, came round looked at the work in progress made a few helpfull comments like"hope your going to double board that pipe duct for fire regs " etc, went away saying give him a ring when complete, didn't even come back to check just signed it off, thoroughly decent chap, even suggested that we got zero rate council tax because of the work, which we did for 12 months, saved aprox £1800, good man, if only they were all like him.

It seems like we have the same daughter Algas..............does yours want a double garage at the bottom of the garden too?
