a tile trim question..

Using tile trim around a window. The tiles going up to the window are not whole tiles.

Which way round should the trim be put? Should the edge that takes the tile be in the reveal or on the wall?

(In my case it would work better on the wall as it would hide the cut edge, but it just does not look right. It is important to me that it is done to convention!)

I always tiles the walls first,then fit the trim with some tape into the reveal then tile sill and recess.
