Just a few people who, basically, only have statues because they were rich and paid for them out of the But maybe some people don't think raping and killing a million black people 200 years ago is as bad as raping some children 20 years ago.[/QUOTE]

It's all sorts of people who don't want the statues - not just ethnic minorities. So where do the white Brits go?!

And perhaps todays standards are something to be proud of too... saying no to racism. Pretty darn good to me.
I say absolutely no to racism but we've always said that already we can't be anymore diverse aware at the moment, you been to a large corp lately and looked at their equal opportunities and positive action procedures, some places heavily favour 'ethnic minorities' its never been better, but it seems it's never been worse.

Racism means not offending anyone of any colour we all have experienced racism no matter what colour we are, its not about a single colour suffering.

The moment you say black you're excluding. Every other minority seems to be getting on fine here in the UK?

Liverpool was built on slavery money,,,do many of the buildings need to be torn down? Or just changing the names, and Erasing Gladstone from the history books enough???

See my earlier post it's quite rediculous.

We shouldn't be bending over to appease these people.

We can't change the past, we can only learn from it.

It's ok though the poor white People that suffered abuse from the factory workers
Is that not an overreaction? A few statues gone and it's the end of the British heritage/culture & history?!

No it's the beginning of the dismantling of Britain.

Can you imagine any other country that would be happy with the removal of historic monuments just to appease the minority.

Germany still have and use nazi built buildings and statues you don't see the Jews trying to tear them down?

The majority of those who are protesting come from immigrant descent, the statues were here already or the history had already been made yet their parents still came here, they came here because they wanted a better life.

Note I didn't say all.

Yes, forgot conversing with you was pointless.
Next time you have nothing of value/interest to add to my posts, please don't highlight them because it's dull for everyone. Cheers (y)
LMAO..."""only a few statues""" Now that is properly not worth responding to because it is SOOO stupid.

Excluding from what?

Bit of an exaggeration. It's not like people are calling to tear down statues of Shakespeare, Newton, or the Melton Mowbray pork pie factory.

Just a few people who, basically, only have statues because they were rich and paid for them out of the money made on what we consider crime today. Savile's statue was taken down pretty quick, nobody complained about the loss of an 80's icon that many here probably enjoyed watching on the TV at some point. But maybe some people don't think raping and killing a million black people 200 years ago is as bad as raping some children 20 years ago.
This is history. If i was to visit a german village and they still had a statue of Hitler i would be fascinated to see it, the detail the history of a man that once was but is now history, i wouldn't in any way feel threatened by it?? It symbolises if anything progress we have made, as he failed and we, thanks to the nations who fought back conquered him. We may have pockets of what was left but we move on.
We all have history.
Jimmy Saville personally i think is a poor example, he definitely is a wrongen of our times today and rightly so should not be allowed to exist in the future domain of heroes only as scum of the past.

Statues have been removed in other countries.
Yes, we should learn from the past but we do not need a commemorative statue in order to do so.
No, it's not dismantling Britain, that again is an overreaction. Things move on, standards to which we hold ourselves change. We will not lose our history, we can't, it's our history, our heritage. Nothing can change that ever because we can't go back in a time machine.
The majority of those who come from immigrant descent are British. They are entitled to everything a white Brit is.

Unfortunately you can't expect everyone to think the same as you, nor should you expect them to.

You are able to learn about Hitler in a load of different ways, you don't have to have a statue in order to do so.

Thought and action two different things, not saying you're wrong but to think i don't like and to say i don't like it therefore fck everyone else im removing it. As you say we are diverse in our being and opinion which is what makes us unique.

ALL COLOURS hello. We inclusively need everyone here to stand against racism against anyone of any colour, watch how that changes things.
HELLO your paragraph made no sense. You told me I was excluding but I said no such thing?
Of course no racism should exist, never said it shouldn't. What's the issue?

I said "The moment you say black you're excluding" (insert any colour white is a colour too!)

You said "Excluding from what'

I said "Excluding all other colours."

Does that make sense? Good.

The thing is, the removal of the statue I don't think has bothered many people anymore. Even the mayor,

It was the paragraph before I was asking about - your reply to me, not the questioning of excluding. You highlighted my post but didn't really carry on with it, instead just telling me I wrote something I didn't?
