racism doesnt affect 90% of people

so what you are saying is "Im alright jack, nobody shouts racist abuse at me, I dont give a flying furk"

No, you are twisting what I have said, I was discussing in regards to statues.

Just because 10% of the population find it offends them is not a reason to pull it down. Especially when they are happy to use the products of one's achievements.

Yeah, but if that 90% don't, because they didn't know it was there or what it stood for, that argument doesn't really stand.
I bet if you asked 1000 people last week who Edward Colston was, only a few at best would have known, and they would have been the ones who felt his statue was an insult.

What about Christopher Columbus or Francis Drake or Winston Churchill or Earl Mountbatten or any of the other multitude of well-known historical figures that are now being targeted?

What are you saying?? Debate wins or mob rule wins?
strawman

read what I said:

Maybe we should stop having elections if a minority don't approve of them.

whataboutery

we are talking about the Colston statue.

sxturbo says he doesnt care about racism it only affects the minority.

This response is typical of yourself, when someone just doesn't agree with you, you start the name calling.

I'll wait to be called boyo in a minute.

A statue of someone to celebrate what they have given To a town is not racist.

The practices of that person in that era were socially acceptable at the time and was not illegal, it is unfair to hold that person to account when they have been dead for centuries.

It is not strawman at all.The people of Bristol decided it should stay..

it might be if the 90% of the population dont give a stuff becasue it doesnt affect them

Especially when they are happy to use the products of one's achievements.
who says they are?

would you be happy if somebody killed your relatives then used the money to fund a school.
