New installation with 2 rkps, upstairs backlight on all the time the other downstairs only lights when key is pressed and then goes off, both operate ok. Read going off is the correct function. Swapped over rkp's same situation upstairs on all the time, so does not appear to be a problem with the units. Wired both directly into the panel terminals by twisting together wires before insertion.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you have swapped the keypads around, then could be cable issue?
Take upstair off and connect directly on to control panel pcb with short length of cable,do then still have same issue.

Hi, finally managed do get back to this, power failure and lockdown delayed things. Hope you are sitting comfortably
Connected upstairs RKP with short lead to panel and left downstairs connected worked ok backlight went on both out RKPs.
Connected downstairs RKP to upstairs wiring and into panel with the short lead RKP also connected upstairs did not go out.
Connected both RKPs to panel with short leads to panel backlight went out when used to reset the other did not, powered down then up used
other RKP to reset, backlight went out the other did not, pressed a key on the second RKP backlight went out.
Do not understand it, so rewired both RKPs to original wiring, powered up reset using downstairs RKP backlight went out then pressed a key on upstairs RKP backlight goes out, now each RKP backlight goes out after use.
Now got another problem on selecting walk test zones 7&8 have '1' underneath with rapid bleeping others are '0', there is nothing connected to them as I am only using 1-6. Have factory reset a few times but it does not change this.
Again any suggestions

Hi put links in 7&8 RKPs display was dark squares instead of characters so no joy.
Have ignored walk testing and programmed the other options, tested the system and so far it appears to be working ok.
Do not plan on using 7&8 so will go with it and hope there are no problems down the line.
Thanks for your help
