adding a light

My landing is long and i only have one light so want to add another. Instead of having to fit a new light and switch, i wanted to fit the light but run one cable from the switch live and neutral from my existing landing light to my new light. This will mean the existing switch will turn both lights on.

However is it ok to do this? would this fail a future inspection? and most of all is it safe? (cant see why not)

It is perfectly acceptable to take a switched live and neutral from your existing light to an additional point.
