Adding to existing spurs - what are my options?

There must be different opinions on this "look under the floor" thing.

In my view, IF the house has a simple ring (with some spurs on it), looking under the floor will give you some good clues on the route of the cables. It may also show you if the circuit is in a muddle. Continuity tests will help confirm what you see.

If you can re-configure the ring, you can put all your sockets on an enlarged ring, and maybe do away with some of the old spurs.

This would give a good solution.

Sorry, my mistake, 3KW. (3000/230=13.04A). Hopefully he has a gas fire/central heating. Obviously it is preferable to extend the ring where this is straight forward, (and it seems not since the only two sockets appear to be spurs) all I am saying is that its not the only answer!

Maybe there is only me and thee who like ring final circuits

I LOVE ring circuits. That alternative route makes things so better for the electrons when things get busy along the copper highway.

Ringa Ding Ding .........

But seriously the ring does mean there has to be two disconnects before the earth connection fails. ( other than on the socket where the screw has worked lose ).
