ADE Concept System Alarm need parts please

Hello Gary, we have bought a house that has one of these alarms and no manuals at all. Could you perhaps tell me how to change the alarm code.

Your assistance in this regard would be much appreciated.

Hi Gary

Ive had a Concept Alarm System for about 20 Years and cannot fault it.

UNTIL, I decided to wash the rendering on my outside walls with the hose!

The Bell Box siren made some squeals and stopped working.

I took the lid off the Main Alarm Panel and a Resister has blown in position 47 next to the Power on Red light.

Do you still have your Concept Alarm? and are you able to send me a photo of the Resister in position 47, so I can see the colours and / or any numbers.

With these details, Maplin can supply me with a replacement.

Had a look at 47 Ohm Resistors and they seem to come in various Wattages.

Unfortunately the paint has burnt off, although I can see a Black ring one end and a yellow the other.

I read the code as

Yellow (4)
violet (7)
black (0)
The next band is the multiplier, I can't make out from the photo if it's gold (which would make the value 47 ohm) or brown (which would make the value 4.7 kilohm)
silver (10% tollerance)

Looking at the size it appears to be a 1W power rating carbon film

I took pictures of Resistor and the Circuit Board to Maplin's.

unfortuneately they didnt have a replacement, although they tested the burnt Resistor, and said it was working!

I re-soldered back onto the Circuit Board and it worked.

I then bypassed the Bell Box Tamper, and alls well.

Selling house soon, so wont fiddle with it anymore
